So this excerpt is from the queerbychoice newsletter of which i recieve. Of all the site that i tried to find on genetic backing to homosexuality this was the only one with "actual" scientific reports. Though i do not agree with the homosexual lifestyle that the site promotes i do enjoy the updates i recieve on new scientific studies.
"There has been considerable speculation both withinthe gay community and the among scientists about thegenetic background of sexuality. The newest evidence comes from a University ofIllinois at Chicago. UIC's Brian Mustanski, workingwith colleagues at the National Institutes of Healthconducted the first-ever study combing the entirehuman genome for genetic determinants of male sexualorientation.
Mustanski found stretches of DNA that appeared to be linked to sexual orientation on three differentchromosomes in the nucleus of cells of the human male. Reporting last month on the research Mustanski saidthat "there is no one 'gay' gene."?"Our best guess is that multiple genes, potentiallyinteracting with environmental influences, explaindifferences in sexual orientation," said Mustanski, apsychologist in the UIC department of psychiatry.""
any input on scientic studies would be greatly appreciated

From a societal perspective, I don't see what difference it makes. Does it matter whether homo or bi-sexuality is choice or genetic? Shouldn't people be allowed to do what they want to do? Of course, that general principle should be limited so to avoid harming those who do not consent to being harmed.
On the other hand, from a pure scientific perspective, it is a very interesting question.
