The Bible and Homosexuality part 1

I had a friend tell me that she was a lesbian, and that homosexuality is not a sin. She then gave me explanations for each time the bible mentions homosexuality. I was quite intrigued by her answers and realized that I had to study this more on my own. So, in true Scot fashion, I set out to prove her right. (see explanation of my method in my earlier post) Here are the verses I’ve found, what she says about them, what I say about them, and what others say about them.

You are not to sleep with a man as with a woman; it is detestable.
Leviticus 18:22

-I hear this verse quoted almost everytime this subject arises.
-My friend says the book also talks about not wearing different types of fabric, not getting tatoo’s etc.. So if we don’t place any importance on those parts of the book how can we place any importance on this particular part.
-I agree with her under the grounds that good ole’ Levi is the old Law which Christians are no longer bound too.

9 Do you not know that the unjust will not inherit God's kingdom? Do not be deceived: no sexually immoral people, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, homosexuals, 10 thieves, greedy people, drunkards, revilers, or swindlers will inherit God's kingdom. 11 Some of you were like this; but you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. - 1Cor. 9&10

-A lot of people like to quote this verse too, but they tend to leave out verse 11.
-She said that since it says “homosexual offenders” then it was referring to rapists, and not consensual homosexual sex.
-I’ve only been able to find it worded as ‘homosexual offenders” in the NIV. One “gay church” site that I went to, even said that the other translations were “inaccurate.” This is just a flat out lie. The original Greek meaning is actually “man sex.”

However, for the sake of argument, I still don’t find this to be concrete enough evidence in only this single verse. I will give her the benefit of the doubt. More verses must be studied. Which, I will explain in the next posts.
That’s all I’m gonna get into today. The next verses will be
