On that note, when I talked about why Christians shouldn’t hide their sins and be ashamed of their actions I was of course talking about Jesus’ ability to forgive those sins. Any Christian knows that we should be ashamed of our sins when we commit them. What I’m talking about is hiding the sin after it has been forgiven. If a Christian is forgiven of their sin then they are to no longer be ashamed. Are we not supposed to give God the glory for what he has done in our lives? If we remain ashamed after we’ve asked forgiveness then what is the source of our shame? If we are still ashamed before God, then that is an obvious lack of faith in His forgiveness. If we are ashamed before men then that shows where our priorities truly lie.
1 John 2:28
28 Now, little children, abide in Him, so that when He appears, we may have confidence and not shrink away from Him in shame
NASU
Phil 1:20
20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death
KJV
2 Cor 4:1-2
Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not lose heart, 2 but we have renounced the things hidden because of shame, not walking in craftiness or adulterating the word of God, but by the manifestation of truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
NASU
