Heath Ledgers death has got quite a few people talking. So why shouldn't i add my thoughts?
-first that "church" that plans on protesting needs to read the Bible and get right with God. Calling them a "church" is even an exageration. Its one family and two other people united around hate. There is a way to stand against sin and exude the love of Christ at the same time, but the media loves these extremes so they can perpetuate the lie that someone who doesn't agree with another's actions must hate them.
-I have a hard time believing someone could "accidentally" overdose on sleeping pills. But on the assumption that it was a suicide it got me thinking.
I believe there comes a time in everyone's life when they realize that everything they are doing to achieve fulfillment fails. What they do with this realization is what is most important. Ideally this causes people be open to accept Christ, but in todays culture its easier to look to other religions or Nihilism. If nihilism is the conclusion then suicide is the most practical answer. If there is no point in life then what is the point of living? As Christians we have the responsibility to tell others about the salvation and fulfillment that is available through Christ. This isn't to convince anyone, that can only be done by the Holy Spirit. This is to ensure that when one reaches a low-point they at least have the option of choosing the correct path.
