Things i learned in North Carolina- 2005

In chronological order (more or less)

2005
-Ultimate Frisbee is a great way to meet people.
-Some people do not pursue Christian fellowship
-Southeastern required more reading and writing in the first two months than Fairmont State required in the first two years.
- If you don't have friends, then you have a lot more free time.
- Living in a house with 13 other guys will hinder your ability to invite people over.
- Mission Trips are a great way to meet people and use skills that you may not get to otherwise.
- Being honest about one's feelings (or lack thereof) is not always favored in the South.
- The South is very different from where i grew up.
- Not all Christians my age are familiar with Alternative/punk/ska Christian bands like Five Iron Frenzy, Bleach, Switchfoot, the O.C. Supertones, and RelientK.
- The teachers at Southeastern are really smart.
- The money that i have is not mine, but God's. 100% not 10%
- Tithing 10% is based primarily on part of a Levitical tax system. The new testament does not endorse a 10% tithe.
- When moving to a new area, it is wise to visit a different church every week for 1 semester. After that time, join one and get involved.
-I can live quite happily off of peanut butter, jelly, lunch meat, bread, lettuce, tomato, milk, & granola.
- Granola is an easy to make & healthy breakfast and snack food.

Great Post. How much does the New Testament endorse.
GOD BLESS

we should give freely and sacrificially. The New Testament focusses on the heart of the giver rather than the amount. Rather than being an excuse to give less, it should be an admonition for most people to give far more.

Does the truth have any bearing on which way you go?
