Three Casinos but not One Grocery Store

Beatty Nevada. What can I say? It's next to Death Valley. It's an old gold mining town about 100 miles from Vegas.  You have to drive 70 miles to buy groceries, but if you wanna blow your money on a slot machine or in poker then your in luck. Beatty is the definition of small town. Everyone here knows each other. Where ever we go, whoever we're with will stop to talk to multiple different people, and of course they'll be good friends with the waitress or cashier. It's pretty fun. The whole town is on one quarter mile stretch of road.  It's quite convenient for us because we can walk everywhere we need to go. We're doin' VBS again this week, but its a different theme than the last four we've done. Variety is the spice of life. And my life is like one of those little packs you get from Little Ceasars with your pizza. or.....Not.
They also have wild donkeys here. How cool is that? They're called "burrows." They're all over the mountains during the day, and then some come down into the town at night.  They hide in dark alleys waiting for unsuspecting passerbys so that they can beat them up and steal their foliage.  If you try to stop them they just retreat to the hills where only a fool would dare follow.
A lawless and wiley bunch those burrows are.
"They ruled the night, and the night seemed to last as long as six weeks..." Billy Joel  "Goodnight Saigon"

Hi Scott,

I posted anonymous because I couldn't figure out how to get back to my name... oh well. This is your mom. Your Aunt Cindy and I think you've been in the desert heat too long. Wild foilage stealing burrows.... OK... Ralph and Cindy sold their house. Did I tell you that already? We haven't sold ours yet, so I guess you'll still be able to find us when you get back! You have an appointment with Dr. Stoll at 1:00 pm on August 11th. You did say you're coming home on the 10th right?

Well, see you soon,
Love, Mom :-)

Does the truth have any bearing on which way you go?
