#2

I have come to believe that blogs will inherently seem arrogant and self absorbed. And that seems perfectly logical to me. After all, the world of the blog revolves around the person typing it. Blogs are monologues not conversations. If anyone ever rambled on and on about their day, or opinions, or etc… in real life like they do on their blogs, then they would be considered jerks.
If the purpose behind your blog is dependant on others then you will be terribly disappointed. If you write in the hopes of garnering many comments and visitors then you will be disappointed. If you write in order to convince others of your views then you will be disappointed. If you want to get your views across to others then it is still much more effective to write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper. You can still post for others, or with others in mind, (such as my xanga) but if your posting depends on others then you will not last.

Does the truth have any bearing on which way you go?
